It all began in 1974 with a small family-run dairy. Onofrio Perina made dairy products as his father “Baffone” had taught him, using milk he bought weekly from Alto Adige. Lucia, his wife, handled sales at the counter in a small shop in Barletta. The products were a hit and the business grew day by day. This called for a larger organization. The first employees were hired, a proper company headquarters was established, and then requests started coming in from outside Puglia, followed by the enthusiasm of Onofrio and Lucia's children who led the dairy towards modernization and growth. It's 2024. Now, just as on the first day, the dairy products and cheeses from the Andriese dairy Bontà Genuina - Perina are expressions of quality, genuineness, and Made in Puglia tradition, both locally, in the Italian market, and abroad.

“Bontà Genuina,” two simple words to understand the business philosophy of the PERINA family, which has handed down the noble art of the cheesemaker from generation to generation. The quality of the 100% Italian milk and all meticulously selected raw materials (from suppliers with whom the company has been historically linked for over 50 years) and meticulously controlled, are wisely married to the skill of expert hands, who work them to create those products that make the Caseificio Andriese Bontà Genuina a company of excellence in the dairy sector.

Philosophy

Only raw Italian milk, where cows are raised on pasture, breathe healthy air away from industrial contamination sources, receiving supplements in the barn free from GMO feed. The Natural veal rennet used comes from historical and qualified suppliers who provide compliance statements and microbiological analyses of the product supplied with each delivery.

For Natural Smoking, obtained using controlled and constantly monitored ovens in compliance with environmental regulations, purified, dust-free, and food-grade beech wood shavings are used, also sourced from historical suppliers who provide constant compliance statements and analytical results.
